Crewmembers, Racing and Paybacks.
This weekend I accidently raced a cremember twice. To make up for it I am broadcasting the crewmate and posting their code here:
Add 42TNSZ - Speed
There are a few people out there named Speed, so make sure you try to add this one. Speed was very cool about the whole thing and is a solid crewmate.
I try to never race crewmembers in the "Race Rival Crew" list. Sometimes I do hit one accidently and I always try to BC the victim.
My faux pas with Speed got me thinking more about racing and paybacks in general, so I thought I would share some thoughts here. I go after a lot of bounties in the payback list. To resfresh this, one has to go through the "Race Rival Crew" to do so. It takes fast hands to win a lot of paybacks and occasionally while switching between the two lists, I race someone randomly on the "Rivals" page (like happened to Speed twice this weekend).
Why do I go after bounties? It first started when I was building up income in the 80-100 level range, I had a slimmed down setup and thought I could still do some racing taking down those who had earned a spot on the payback list. It worked well and right away, I hit a couple of single bounties that were over $3 million dollars. I guess that kind of hooked me on it.
Later, as I got to higher levels and my crew grew larger, I had fewer rival crews to race. With so few options I felt a little guilty racing the same people all of the time (sorry guys, but I still have to race somebody). Paybacks offered me opponents which were up for grabs and never had too low of an integrity.
Over about two months I have won almost 3300 paybacks. About 30% of my wins have been payback wins and 20% of my races overall. I feel those people are being put there to get creamed and somebody will surely do it. It might as well be me.
I do race crew on payback for two reasons: (1) it takes them off of payback and saves their integrity and (2) it keeps the bounty and any other cash proceeds in the crew. Once in a great while I end up removing someone who wished to drain their integrity, but I will always put them back on the list if requested.
Happy Racing!
